Quail Uses

Coturnix quail are a versatile prey item used by falconers, raptor rehabilitation facilities, bird dog trainers, reptile keepers, exotic animal owners, and wildlife educators throughout the United States.

Whole quail provide a natural source of protein, bone, organs, and feathers, making them an excellent choice for many birds of prey, reptiles, and carnivorous animals. Quail are commonly used for falconry, rehabilitation programs, scent and retrieval training, enrichment activities, and as part of balanced whole-prey feeding programs.

In addition to whole frozen quail, dehydrated quail and quail eggs can be used as high-value training treats for dogs and other animals. Crushed quail eggshells may also be used as a natural calcium supplement or nutritional additive when appropriate for the species being fed.
